Dr. Moustapha Kassem is professor of Endocrinology and Director of Molecular Endocrinology Laboratory, at the University of Southern Denmark. In November 1983 Moustapha gained his MBBCh. from Kasr-Al-Aini Medical School, University of Cairo, Egypt. In January 1988 he was granted his Danish medical license. In August 1994 Moustapha was awarded a PhD in Medicine from the University of Aarhus, Aarhus, Denmark. In November 1997 he gained a Doctorate of Science (Dr.Med) at the University of Aarhus, Aarhus, Denmark. Since 2002 Moustapha has been a specialist consultant in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology. In May 2002 he was a consultant in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism in the Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the University Hospital of Odense, Odense, Denmark. In April 2003 he became a Professor of Endocrinology at the University of Southern Denmark, Odense, Denmark and director for Laboratory of Molecular Endocrinology, Medical Biotechnology Center (www.mbc.sdu.dk). Moustapha is a co-founder of Center for Clinical Stem Cell Therapy at Odense University Hospital; partner in the Danish Stem Cell Research Center (DASC; www.dasc.dk), member of the National Faculty at the Danish Stem Cell Research Doctoral School (www.dascdoc.dk) and founding member of the Danish Stem Cell Society (2008). Moustapha is a board member of the Nordic Research Foundation, the Novo Nordisk foundation, Member of the Scientific-Ethical Committee of Aarhus County (1999-2001), board member of the Danish Society for Endocrinology (2002-2004), board member of the Danish Bone and Tooth Society (2000-2005), board member of the Centre for Art and Science, University of Southern Denmark (2004-2007), on the editorial board of Clinical Endocrinology, Experimental Gerontology, Stem Cell Reports, Biogerontology.
