Baiba Jansone is an Associate Professor at the University of Latvia in the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Pharmacology, Riga, Latvia.She is also the President, Latvian Society of Pharmacology, an alternate member of the Committee on Herbal Medicinal Products (HMPC) at the European Medicines Agency ( EMA) in London, UK and an Expert of Latvian Council of Science in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry. Latvian Council of Science, Riga, Latvia. Baiba's lab focuses on neuropharmacological studies (cognition, memory) in rodents (mice, rats) in connection with protein alteration in the brain. She is currently Head of project (Latvian Partner) for an EEA and Norwegian Financial Mechanism funded, project titled ‘Benefits and detrimental effects of sequence variants of Amyloid-β: towards the use of small peptides for aggregate dissolution therapy in dementia’, No. NFI/R/2014/023; www.eeagrants.lv. 2015 -2017 and Head of the project for an European Social Fund funded project titled ‘The role of the neuroimmune regulation in the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders by the novel type of the privileged structures’, No.2009/0217/1DP/188.8.131.52.0/09/APIA/VIAA/031,2010-2012.
