Josipa Vlainić is currently a researcher at the Laboratory for Advanced Genomics, Division of Molecular Medicine, Ruđer Bošković Institute, Zagreb. She was awarded her PhD in neuropharmacology from the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Zagreb in 2009. Previously Josipa studied for a DVM at the chool of Veterinary Medicine, University of Zagreb. She has undertaken several additional educational courses including Research management training, ReMaT project, Zagreb, Croatia (2007), Training workshop in the Experimental Design and Statistical Analysis of Biomedical Experiments, University of Manchester,UK (2007) and attended the IBRO Workshop, Pecz, Hungary (2010).
In 2000, 2001 and 2001 she was awarded the Award of the Dean of School of Veterinary Medicine University of Zagreb for exceptional success in learning and study. Josipa has also been awarded an Award of CPS (EPHAR, Porto, Portugal) in 2004, a FENS travel grant (6th FENS, Geneve, Switzerland) in 2008, an IBRO Award in 2010 and an Award of CNS (Sinapsa Neuroscience Conference, Ljubljana, Slovenija) in 2011. She is a member of the European Pharmacological Society (EPHAR), the International Union of Pharmacological Society (IUPHAR), the World Federation of Societies of Biological Psychiatry, the International Brain Research Organization, the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies, the Croatian Pharmacological Society and the Croatian Society for Neurosciences.
