Gunay Yetik-Anacak is an Associate professor in the Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Pharmacy at Ege University, Izmir, Turkey. She was awarded her PhD in Pharmacology from Ege University in 2002 following her prefoctoral study at TUBITAK research institute of genetic engineering at marmara research center. That was followed by post-doctoral positions at the Medical College of Georgia Vascular Biology Center, USA and the Medical University of Vienna, Austria. In 2009 she became an Assistant professor in the Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Pharmacy at Ege University, Izmir, Turkey before taking up her current position in 2011. Gunay’s research focuses on the role of gasotransmitters (NO, CO, H2S) in aging-induced diseases, especially cardiovascular diseases and erectile dysfunction, identifying H2S targeting drug candidates. Her research area is vascular pharmacology and pathophysiology, vascular tonus, bioactive molecules, angiogenesis, signal transduction.
